BEANIES
In Xai-Xai we may have a short winter, but that does not change the fact that it can get very cold, especially from evenings to mornings. In our communities there is no central heating, and people may only have one blanket to keep them warm. A beanie will go a long way in keeping heads and ears warm at night / on the way to work / at the open air markets / the homeless or beggars on the street / the children at the orphanage etc.
A round knitting machine was bought and wool kindly donated to enable many beanies to be knitted. The round knitting machine makes quick and easy work of knitting a beanie, with currently 55 made and more wool on the way to continue knitting.
HOW TO HELP:
Please raid your cupboards for wool/yarn, preferably Double Knit (DK) and bring it with you when you come on holiday.
