ORPHANAGE SUPPORT
Xai-Xai's State Orphanage currently has +- 40 children residing therein, ages from a few months old to adulthood. Some have been abandoned, have no family or are mentally and/or physically disabled. It is distressing to see the state of some of these children and support in all areas are needed. We are working towards renovations, food and nutritional support, disability training and support, and educational support.
On 12 December 2025 we signed a memorandum of agreement with INAS (the institute of social action) that enables us to work more effectively in assisting with the upliftment of the orphanage. You can read the documents below.
HOW TO HELP:
Support in all areas are required, eg. food, clothing, stationery, books, toys (play and educational), bedding, curtains, toiletries, cleaning products, vegetable garden etc. See the projects identified below:
PROJECTS IDENTIFIED:
Help us welcome a traumatised child with a comfort pack
At the Infantário de Xai-Xai, some children arrive with nothing — but they carry pain, fear, confusion, and loss and come from deeply traumatic situations — and need a safe place to decompress while their future care is being addressed.
We want to be prepared to offer each child a meaningful comfort pack when they arrive - packs that quietly say:
“You are safe. You are not alone. You matter.”
For just R500 / 2,000mt, you can sponsor one full comfort pack and help a child feel seen, cared for, and supported during a very difficult time, that will contain:
